| fpteditors | Free Public Transit dot org | Transit supervisors should not have vehicles, they should ride the bus! Also, we should talk about the costs of "charging" a fare and not the costs of "collecting" a fare. Charging a fare requires all sorts of costs that are not considered direct costs of "collecting" such as expensive stainless steel turnstiles to force payment and many other such things. You have it all covered in your proposal, it is just a "framing" issue. You are making history! This is awesome. We are deeply moved. |
| Eliseo Jacob | Yes, I am in support of your proposal. I am a graduate student at UT with a limited budget, so the possibility of having free transportation is extremely attractive to me. I am also a graduate student representative in the UT student government and am willing to help out any way possible. | |
| Mike Melanson | none - UT Student and Austin Resident | Something needs to be done to alleviate transportation issues in this city. We're killing the environment. |
| Elizabeth Eyster | AISD | |
| Margaret Glausser | Yellow Bike Project | I support a faster, free bus service in Austin. Our roads are congested and miserable for commuters, and real options are necessary. |

| Oguz Erdin | UT student | For me it is the frequency of the busses that matters the most. I can even pay a little more if I know that there will be frequent busses or some sort of mass transportation to all spots in Austin almost 24 hours a day. I am from Istanbul and that's how it is there. But I support any proposal that's gonna make the mass transportation system in Austin better. Please keep up the good work! Thanks alot! |
| Daniel Keshet | This is they type of bold plan that would really put Austin on the national scene as a leader in real environmental solutions, a city for other cities to look up to and emulate. | |
| Jane Kheel Stanley | Nurture New York's Nature | Ted Kheel's Nurture New York's Nature funded a transit report for New York City, which shows the benefits of free transit in terms of reducing congestion, saving commuters time, and improving the environment. See http://nnyn.org/kheelplan/. The team at NNYN is gratified to see that forward thinking transit advocates in Austin are now advancing a similar proposal. It is only a matter of time until other cities across the world realize follow suit. |
| Judith Filler | Very much favor more, accessible, affordable public transportation. We're waaaaay behind the curve on this!! | |
