Bus Stops and being FORCED to ride a vanpool or walk 1 mileSubmitted by beastman on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 23:14 |
Prior to the Tech Ridge Park and Ride opening, Route 392 went by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality ALL DAY. When the Tech Ridge Park and Ride opened, Route 392 no longer went to TCEQ. Instead a new Route 440 went to TCEQ but only during peak hours. Then the current schedule, Route 440 stopped going to TCEQ. They added a stop at Yager and IH 35. That leaves ONE MILE to walk to work. I then joined a vanpool and ONLY ride it from the McDonalds at Metric and Parmer to TCEQ (5 - 10 minute ride) yet I have to pay the full vanpool price. Why? I have a disability fare card, which is good on all buses, but for some reason NOT on Vanpools. Why isn't the disability fare card good for vanpools? Instead of a fixed amount for vanpools, why not an amount depending on how many miles you ride it? And if you have a disability fare card, ride the vanpool for free.
