Worst Bus Stop in Town -- Contest KickoffSubmitted by jojo on Sun, 08/10/2008 - 02:00 |
After many discussions about the worst bus stops in Austin, a contest is in order. We will accept nominations for the worst stops in town for a month or so, and reveal the top ten at a Capital Metro Board meeting prior to passage of the budget for 2009, which purportedly contains funding for bus stop improvements.
The criteria are wide open. Bad is in the mind of the beholder, and no nomination will be rejected. The first nomination was submitted at the August meeting by Mary. Her stop, near Grove St. for the #26 route is totally inaccessible for persons with mobility impairments, dirty and fire ant infested.
Submit your nomination in the comments below or by using our contact page. Pictures would be awesome. All nominated stops will be forwarded to Metro. My personal nomination is at Cameron and Broadmoor on route #37. It has been a known center of deplorability for over 20 years, so we cannot promise that Metro will do anything with our results either, but they should if they're serious about the things they say.
