SmartcardsSubmitted by beastman on Sun, 05/17/2009 - 13:06 |
Since Capital Metro insist they "have to count" the number of riders using the disability fare card, seniors riding the bus, etc. then THE LEAST they MUST do is to have the Capital Metro Store open on Saturday so people can get the smartcard without having to take off work.
Once you have the smartcard, it is good for ONLY TWO years. Why so short of a time? What's wrong with 5 years or longer? Why doesn't Capital Metro offer a renew by mail or internet option, similar to what DPS does for drivers license and state issued id cards? Just because a person has a disability fare card or is a senior, it DOES NOT mean that they do not work. IF the Capital Metro Store was open on Saturday or if they allowed renewal by mail or internet, then people could get the card WITHOUT having to take TIME OFF WORK. I ended up taking time off work to get my disability fare card.
