Attacking AustinSubmitted by Mac on Sun, 08/16/2009 - 22:45 |
The new fare increase goes to show that Capital Metro once again does not get it, no supprise there, but will other leaders in Austin figure it out. Inspite of media hype on how austin is weathering this recession there are plenty of people out of work or in finacial difficulties. The city will need an expaned transit network for those folks if the city is going to pull itself back into ecconomic health. Higher cost and limiting services are another nail in our ecconomic cofin. People need rational routes and reasonable service times to find and work. On unemployment or part time work there is no way they can handle the 150% raise in fare for the monthly pass that Capital Metro is trying to force them to pay for a decreased poorly designed system.
