CAP METRO CEO TO RETIRE |
Austin, TX
October 16 will be Fred Gilliam’s last day in charge of Austin’s transit agency.
Fred Gilliam is retiring as president and chief executive officer of the Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority after eight years at the helm.
As KUT’s Mose Buchele reports, Gilliam and Capital Metro have come under increasing fire over agency finances, two strikes by bus drivers and the still-delayed MetroRail commuter line between downtown Austin and Leander.
Gilliam’s last day will be October 16th.
