Access goings on |
Metro Access, which used to be called STS has been under attack since the advent of the train. Capital Metro is so determined to kick passengers off the Access service that they have spent thousands of dollars in legal fees to fight the passengers who are resisting. In the end mediation was agreed to, but Metro has repeatedly ignored the results of the mediation. Pat Bartel, who uses the service has been especially vigilant in holding the transit authority's feet to the fire. The are obligated to follow the ADA and other federal guidelines since they receive massive funding from the federal government.
The attached files are a couple examples of the fightback that is currently going on in the disability community.
