Capitol Metro Board Full of Big Business and More Special Intrests....

Outraged enough? Wait til you read this....

Norm Chafetz, who lives in Anderson Mill and works out of his home grading college admissions tests, has had a TxTag — the electronic windshield sticker put out by the Texas Department of Transportation — since the first toll roads opened in Austin three years ago. He keeps the tag account stocked with money and had never gotten a bill from TxTag for an unpaid toll until about a week ago.

The problem is that Chafetz also has a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero and its license plates turned 7 this year. In Texas, that means his plates had come to the end of their useful life because plates lose "reflectivity" by that time. An insufficiently reflective plate is tougher for cops to see (and read) at night. And having a plate that makes a glare when headlights hit it is safer, TxDOT says.

And guess what? He is on the New Capitol Metro Board.

Another member of the board also has ACC interests,
Silas also serves as vice chair of the Austin Community College Board of Trustees and chair of the Downtown Austin Alliance Board of Directors.

*I smell the stench of Racist Tom Stacy here

Steamed yet

Ann Stafford is from Envision Central Texas so is Beverly Silas. I thought THE BOARD WOULD INCLUDE REGULAR JOES, but yet Kirk The Jerk Watson decided to not free the board from big business interests. Heck why not rename Capitol Metro to Envision? Is there any representive of the board that is not afflited with Envision, or Austin Community College in any way shape or form? The answer to that a big fat NO!

Ann Stafford is the community affairs spokesperson for Spansion who lays off workers AIG Style. Spansion doesn't beleive in severence pay unless you are in the executive pool. When I heard the AMD has a stake in Spansion, I am planning to put my AMD computer on the market and buy me a Intel based generic PC.

But they do have the following in common, with the exception of Chris Riley (unless his bike breaks) They are puritans in nature they represent Capitol Metro, but do they use Capitol Metro? I think the rest of you can answer that.
