Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority Board Members Meeting Happenings... 2/10Submitted by willdav713 on Tue, 02/23/2010 - 03:44 |
Capital Metro Board of Directors approved the implimentation of Service Plan 2020 which according to Mayor Pro Tem Mike Martinez they can change and modify Service Plan 2020 at any time.
Oh really? My thoughts were does that mean I can have the 3 route Northbound extended to serve Morado Circle. Well we have to wait until the Fall service changes. Said Roberto Martinez in Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority's Planning Department. This is a different answer from "No were not because we are going to deviate service from neighboorhood routes" Or "That is not in service plan 2020" and "We are religning the routes to aertial streets" I guess all the apartments on Morado Circle and Jollyville Road will have to increase their rent which will increase land costs (probally put money in Cowman's pocket) before this happens.
Roberto said he will also look into the Pond Springs deviation of Route 383.
The meeting went on til almost 7:00pm which started at 3:00pm. Cowman left the room when the public comments arose.
Norm Chafetz asked a question of What is on Pond Springs? a couple of apartment complexes said James Gamez in the Planning Department. He failed to mention to Mr. Chafetz the fact those are luxury apartments. He mention they were apartments on both sides of the frontage road from Braker Lane til Anderson Mill exits.
Pulling this route would also discountine the half ass designed bus stop serving Seton Northwest Hospital which needs to be close to the Emergency entrance of the hospital on the frontage road. I did not mention this fact due to my 3 minutes being up.
Stall tactics, maybes along with empty promises. The public wants direct answers not clueless ones along with reasonable timeframes.
Again the public is at a loss tonight.
Randy Hume went as fast as he could with the displays of accounting and figures after being told 3 times by Beverly Silas and 1 other board members.
I am in the process of obtaining taped trascripts of the meeting.
I asked Gina Estrada board liason about getting tapes, "The report is online. It won't be the complete meeting but it will have enough information about the meeting, it is something we are looking at doing this year to stream this on the internet"
Now how hard is it to duplicate cassettes I am sure that Capital Metro has a duplication machine in the building.
Shoot I will take it in the following formats tape, cd, minidisc, Vinyl, or even 8 track.
Well if the media can have access to those tapes I am sure going to try.
I will be contacting the Legal/Open records department tommorrow about getting a copy of these tapes. What I am going to obtaining is copies of the September, November, December, Janauary, and Feburary meetings.
Diane Bomar-Aleman spoke about grandfathering the Wells Branch paratransit portion of the route, and made comments about the 3 southbound portion of the route.
She also spoke about MetroAccess policies.
Chris Riley asked questions about the type of buses used for Bus Rapid Transit.
Well that is some of things that happened at the Capital Metro Board meeting tonight.
