I downloaded the application for a disability fare card, and took it to my doctor appointment this morning. My doctor filled out the form, and then after the appointment, I took it to the Capital Metro Transit Store on Congress. When I got there, I was told that the disability fare cards require 3 business days, and since today is Friday, the earliest I could get mine will be Tuesday. They are only issued between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday - Friday. I then asked if my picture could be taken NOW (I was the only member of the public there) and mailed to me. I explained that I WORK 7:30 - 4:30 Monday - Friday. The LEAST Capital Metro could do is to hire a part time person to work Saturdays and be open from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Or why couldn't they take my picture TODAY and mail it to me? I then asked if the Capital Metro Transit Store was going to be open on Memorial Day, but I knew better. Of course the answer is NO. I was hoping that since I am off work on Memorial Day that I could go and pick up my disability fare card then, without having to take another day off work.
